2023 Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals
Reviewing the entry list for the upcoming Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa, OK - presented by RedCon1.com
The entry list is basically official, with less than a month, before the 2023 Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals are set to take place at the SageNet Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
For those unfamiliar with this event, since 1987, midget racers have been congregating in Tulsa for an indoor event that has seen its popularity spike in recent years. The popularity of this race has lately catapulted on the back of notable NASCAR drivers joining this event including Oklahoma’s own Christopher Bell (three-time winner from 2017-2019).
Besides the peculiarity of being an event held inside a large stadium, racing around a quarter-mile circle, what sets this race apart is the local clay which gives the racing surface a distinct type of racing thanks to the elements not affecting the clay.
Noteworthy NASCAR Cup Series winners from past Chili Bowls include Bell, Kyle Larson (2021, 2020), Tony Stewart (2007, 2002), and Dave Blaney (1993). Riddled in between these NASCAR drivers are famous dirt track drivers like Sammy Swindell, Cory Kruseman, Kevin Swindell, Rico Abreu, and Tanner Thorson in last year’s edition of this event.

2023 Chili Bowl Nationals Schedule
Once more, if you’re not familiar with this event - it’s long. Practice will begin on January 8th. On the 9th, the first of several qualifying races go down which will begin to set the field for the feature races. It all culminates on the 14th when those feature races begin and finally the championship race to crown the 2023 champion.
If you can’t make the trip to Tulsa, FloRacing will broadcast the entire event while MavTV will pick up the broadcast on the 14th to air the features and championship race.
While not DFS, or really even NASCAR related, for those looking to whet their appetite with racing during the doldrums of Winter - this is a fantastic way to get access to some of the world’s best dirt racers in the confines of an arena.
